I am fine - is the most common lie told by humans.

Fucked up

In this state of being fine a person may be feeling, shame, rejection, confusion, a complete loss of self and of resilience.

Insecure

Insecure because they do not have any certainty and indeed my be in a situation that is unfamiliar and scary, so they don't know how to respond to social cues which then creates a spiral of anxiety.

Neurotic and Egotistical

This leads to the neurotic where responses whether physical or emotional are drastic and irrational, the person becomes caught up in their own narrative of events that they can only   respond to from a position of ego. They can only feel and acknowledge their own pain and hurt. This is the egotistical element. Leading to all kinds of negative feelings, that can be rooted in the past

If you are feeling fine talk to someone, acknowledge what is at the heart of the pain and give your self permission not to act on the feelings, distract yourself, or call someone. As the irrational acts can then cause further feelings of shame and confusion.
